THE BEAUTY OF THE ROSE
Come, and attend with me forever here in this garden of
bloom.
You are more beautiful than beautiful is,
the best flower that i have yet to pick. You are the
beauty of the rose.
The breath of you fragrant lips inspires some kind of
wild fire
that churns within me, blazing a passionate longing
to caress and soothe the soft petals of your being.
My youth settles as the dew upon your shimmering leaves,
and my arms want and need to reach intimately, so
delicately
into the pool of your eyes.
And as the Sun's heated beams come to rest along side
your slender stem; to be hemmed in and cupped within
the beauty of your final burst of flower.
CLOSE
If i were an angel, for one eternal moment
I'd lean against the impossible so i could peel
back the veil of my soul to let you know
that you could come in.
If i were a droplet of water i'd come to rest upon
the likes of you. I'd light against your gentle, soft
skin
falling over and over again
into you. And if i were a pleasant memory i could always
stay inside,
feeling every breath you made and know what makes you
feel alive.
And in every passing thought i would never be alone
because then i woudl be the closest thing to your soul.
A WALK
This road continues on and on that i walk
where lush, green, tall trees reach out to one another
in grid lock.
Spider webs ebb and flow like silver strings of violins
played by the rising sun, draping across my humid skin.
Golden high grasses sweep against the pale blue canvas
in the early morning wind.
Perhaps i will go on still up a way
or stop, turn back from where i came?
All roads lead home, never ending, ever winding
for the wonder of this traveler. |
